Best AI Skin Analysis Apps in 2026: Pori vs Glow, YouCam, SkinVision

Nine apps that analyze your skin from a photo, compared on what they actually measure, whether they're medical, what they cost and where they fall short.

Key takeaways
  • Selfie scanners (Pori, Glow, GoodSkin, GlowScanAI, YouCam) score how skin looks. They are wellness tools, not diagnoses.
  • SkinVision and Skinive are CE-marked medical apps for checking a single spot. SkinVision isn't offered in the US or Canada.
  • Pori stands out for its lifestyle diary, skin age, ingredient scanner and AI chat. It is iPhone-only and new.
  • Whatever you use, scan in the same light and track trends over weeks.

The best AI skin analysis app depends on what you want to know. For a selfie-based read of hydration, texture, tone and visible aging, with a way to track progress, look at wellness scorers like Pori, Glow or GoodSkin. To check a specific mole or spot for skin cancer risk, you need a different kind of app, such as SkinVision or Skinive, and ideally a dermatologist.

We compared nine apps that come up when people search for a skin analyzer, a face skin scanner or a skin age test. We checked what each one analyzes, whether it is a medical device, what it costs, and what users complain about. Prices and ratings come from the US App Store listings in October 2026 and change often, so check the listing before you subscribe.

Wellness skin scanners vs medical skin checkers

The apps fall into two groups that do very different jobs.

  • Wellness skin scanners such as Pori, Glow, GoodSkin, GlowScanAI and YouCam score how your skin looks today: hydration, texture, pores, tone and visible aging. They help you build a routine and see whether it works. They do not diagnose anything, and all of them say so.
  • Medical skin checkers such as SkinVision and Skinive look at one spot, mole or rash and estimate a risk or a likely condition. SkinVision and Skinive carry EU CE marks as medical device software. Even so, both say the result is not a substitute for a clinical diagnosis.

If you're worried about a mole that has changed, a medical checker can help you decide how urgently to see a doctor. A wellness app is the wrong tool for that. For a broader look at how these apps work and where they fall short, see how AI skin analysis works and how accurate it is.

The apps, one by one

Pori: Skin Face Age Checker

Pori takes a selfie and returns a skin score from 0 to 100. It breaks that down into hydration and moisture, pores and texture, pigmentation and tone, anti-aging and elasticity, and overall health, and shows a skin-age estimate next to your real age. A skin diary lets you log sleep, water, stress and diet, so you can compare your scores against your habits. Pori also has before-and-after comparison, a morning and evening routine, an ingredient scanner that flags each ingredient for your skin type, an AI chat that knows your scan history, and a home-screen widget.

Watch out for: Pori is iPhone-only (iOS 17 or later) and English-only. It is new, so it has few App Store ratings. The weekly plan costs more than some rivals, and the yearly plan is the better deal. Pori does not check moles.

Glow – AI Skin Scanner

Glow by Dent Labs is the closest match to Pori's feature set. It rates hydration, texture and other categories from a selfie, builds a routine, recommends products and does before-and-after comparisons. It has a 4.8 rating from about 2,200 reviews, which is strong social proof for this category.

Watch out for: some reviewers say the subscription is too expensive or report slow loading and sign-in problems. Its listing doesn't mention a lifestyle diary or an ingredient scanner.

GoodSkin – AI Skin Scanner

GoodSkin focuses on skin age. A selfie gives you a skin-age estimate, an overall score and ratings for wrinkles, acne, texture and pores, and it saves scans so you can follow progress. Premium is $7.99 a week or $49.99 a year.

Watch out for: GoodSkin is very new and had no ratings when we checked.

GlowScanAI

GlowScanAI scores wrinkles, texture, redness, dark spots and pores, and builds morning and evening routines. At $24.99 a year it is the cheapest yearly plan here.

Watch out for: it needs iOS 18.2 or later, which rules out older iPhones, and it has almost no reviews yet.

YouCam Makeup

YouCam Makeup from Perfect Corp is the giant of the group, with a 4.7 rating from about 155,000 reviews. It is mainly an AR makeup and photo editor. It includes a skin score with product recommendations and a daily log.

Watch out for: skin analysis is a side feature here. Perfect Corp's own blog says its fullest skin diagnostic is on Android. The App Store privacy label lists data used for tracking and advertising.

Skin Bliss

Skin Bliss is strongest on products. It has a face scanner, a routine builder, an ingredient compatibility checker and a searchable database of more than 100,000 products. Pro is $6.99 a month or $34.99 a year.

Watch out for: reviewers say most features sit behind the membership, with frequent paywall prompts.

SkinVision

SkinVision is a regulated medical app. You photograph a single spot and get a skin cancer risk assessment. It is CE-marked as a Class IIa medical device in the EU and supports mole tracking.

Watch out for: its App Store listing says it is not intended for users in the US or Canada, or for anyone under 18. It does not score your overall skin.

Skinive

Skinive scans spots, moles and rashes, looks for signs of acne, eczema, psoriasis and fungal conditions, and estimates melanoma risk. It is CE-marked as Class I medical device software and can export PDF reports for a dermatologist.

Watch out for: it covers many conditions under a lower device class, and it states that results do not replace a clinical diagnosis.

Aysa

Aysa, from VisualDx, is a symptom checker. You photograph a concern and answer questions, and it suggests conditions it could be, drawing on a clinical image library. It had a 4.6 rating and was free when we checked.

Watch out for: reviewers say it often returns broad lists rather than a precise match. It is not a skin-quality scanner.

How to choose

  • You want to know how your skin is doing and whether your routine works: a wellness scanner. Pori adds a lifestyle diary and skin age, Glow has the most reviews, and GlowScanAI has the cheapest yearly plan.
  • You mostly care about products and ingredients: Skin Bliss for its database, or Pori's ingredient scanner if you also want scans and tracking.
  • You're curious about skin age: Pori or GoodSkin. Read what skin age means before you take the number too seriously.
  • You have a mole or spot that worries you: see a dermatologist. A CE-marked checker can help in the EU, but none of these apps replaces an exam.

Why consistency matters more than the app

Every selfie-based score moves with lighting, camera angle and makeup. Whichever app you choose, scan in the same light, at the same time of day, with a clean face. Compare trends over weeks rather than single scans. Our guide to tracking skin progress with photos walks through a simple routine for this.

Methodology and disclosure

This comparison is published by the team behind Pori, so read it with that in mind. We list Pori's limitations alongside everyone else's. Features, prices and ratings come from each app's US App Store listing or official website, as linked, checked in October 2026. App Store prices are in-app purchase ranges and may vary by region and over time. We did not test the medical apps for accuracy, and nothing here is medical advice.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best app to analyze your skin?

For a selfie-based read of hydration, texture, tone and aging with progress tracking, Pori, Glow and GoodSkin are strong picks. For checking a single mole for skin cancer risk, a medical app like SkinVision (EU) or a dermatologist is the right choice.

Is there a free skin analysis app?

Most skin analysis apps are free to download with a paid subscription. Pori's first scan is free, and Aysa was free on the App Store when we checked.

Are AI skin analysis apps accurate?

They are useful for tracking visible changes over time if you scan in consistent conditions, but a single score shifts with lighting and angle. Wellness apps don't diagnose conditions, and even CE-marked checkers say they don't replace a clinical diagnosis.

Can a skin app check moles for skin cancer?

Only medical apps such as SkinVision and Skinive attempt this, and both are CE-marked in the EU. Wellness scanners like Pori, Glow and YouCam do not check moles. See a dermatologist about any changing spot.
